Hold On — God Is Not Finished

All Devotions

By TRVM

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
— Romans 15:13

Hope is the anchor of the soul. When everything around you look dark, hope is what keeps you standing. The enemy's strategy is to make you give up. God's plan is to lift you up. To someone reading this today: your story is not over.

1. Hope Is Rooted in God, Not in Circumstances

When your hope rests in people, jobs, or money, disappointment is inevitable. But when your hope is anchored in God, nothing can shake you. Even when the doctor says no, when the bank says no, when every door appears closed — God says: I am still on the throne.

He is not moved by what moves you. And He is not finished with you yet.

2. Hope Waits on God's Timing

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
— Psalm 27:14

Joseph waited thirteen years. Abraham waited twenty-five. But what God promised, He delivered — in full, on time, with nothing missing.

Your waiting season is not a wasting season. God is preparing you for what He has promised. The delay is not a denial — it is a development.

3. Hope Grows Through Trials

"Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame."
— Romans 5:3-5

Trials are not designed to destroy you. They are designed to develop you. The same fire that burns the chaff refines the gold. God is using your situation to build something in you that comfort never could.

4. Hope Sees What God Sees

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
— Jeremiah 29:11

What you see right now is temporary. What God sees is eternal. Do not judge your life by today's pain. Judge it by God's promise — because His perspective always outlasts your circumstance.

A CLOSING CHARGE

  1. When you are tired — hope in the Lord, and He will renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31).
When you are confused — hope in the Lord, and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
When you feel alone — hope in the Lord, for He will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5).

The God who raised Jesus from the dead is the God of your situation. If He conquered death, He can handle what you are facing.

Never lose hope.

PRAYER

  • Lord, fill my heart with fresh hope today. Remind me that You are working behind the scenes for my good, that Your plans for me are good, and that Your timing is perfect. Let my hope overflow by the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
