Sacred in the Shadows

All Devotions

By Ps. Jerry Mapesa

Some battles God never lets the crowd see — not because your pain doesn’t matter, but because your healing is sacred.

“To everything there is a season…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

There’s a reason for the closed doors, the quiet exits, the tears no one witnessed. God does His deepest work where no one is applauding.

“Truly You are God, who hides Yourself” (Isaiah 45:15)

A lion’s strength isn’t built by the jungle’s approval — it’s forged in silence, then revealed when it’s time. You don’t need an audience to become who God called you to be.

“Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God?” (Galatians 1:10)

Stop explaining every wound. Stop announcing every battle. Some things God is healing in you before He reveals you to them.

Jesus withdrew to pray in solitude. David was anointed before he was known. Joseph was shaped in obscurity before he stood before kings. If you’re in a hidden season now — heal there. Grow there. Become there.

“Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character” (Romans 5:3-4)

This season is not your burial ground. It’s your preparation ground.

You will not emerge empty. You will emerge whole, wise, and ready. “I know the plans I have for you” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Heal in private. Shine in public.

Let your testimony speak louder than your explanation.
